What to look for in a Juniors Soccer Program

When searching for a developmental program for your player, one of the most critical components is finding an organization with a sound philosophy for developing technical and tactical skills that are age appropriate. It is also important to find a coaching staff that has the knowledge and expertise to work with the younger player. An appropriate training program that places your player in a training environment that ensures fun and proper fundamental development is also very important.

Our Youth Program

The ALBION SC Miami Youth Program offers two distinct and thoughtfully designed pathways for players ages 3–12: the ALBION Juniors Recreational Program and the ALBION Development Academy (ADA). Both programs share the same mission, to instill a love for the game, build technical fundamentals, and promote growth in a positive, player-focused environment all while offering families options based on their child’s developmental stage and desired level of commitment.

ALBION Juniors Recreational Program

The ALBION Juniors Recreational Program is the perfect starting point for young boys and girls who are new to soccer or looking for a fun, low-commitment introduction to the game. Designed for players ages 3–11, this in-house, non-travel program provides a structured yet playful environment that prioritizes enjoyment, teamwork, and foundational skill development.

Players participate in one practice and one game per week, creating a consistent routine that supports learning without overwhelming busy family schedules. The program is led by volunteer parent coaches, who receive mentorship and support from the ALBION Juniors Lead. This model not only offers parents a unique opportunity to be actively involved in their child’s soccer journey, but also builds a strong sense of community and collaboration.

Through small-sided games, team training sessions, and our ALBION Juniors Core Curriculum, players develop technical fundamentals while gaining confidence, coordination, and social connection—all through the joy of the game. There are no tryouts required, just registration and a willingness to play and learn.

ALBION Development Academy (ADA)

The ALBION Development Academy (ADA) is an elevated option within the ALBION Juniors pathway, built for players who are ready for a more advanced training environment and interested in a direct bridge into the club’s competitive pathway. ADA is geared toward players ages 5–12 who show enthusiasm, focus, and potential for long-term development.

Each ADA group is led by a USSF Licensed Lead Coach and supported by a rotation of coaches from our competitive program, creating intentional exposure to the training philosophy and standards that define ALBION’s elite-level teams. The rotation allows players to connect with a variety of coaching styles while maintaining continuity and leadership through the Lead Coach.

ADA emphasizes a small group training model with limited roster sizes to ensure high-quality instruction and individualized attention. This environment allows players to deepen their technical abilities, develop early tactical awareness, and build familiarity with the ALBION methodology.

Most importantly, ADA introduces players early to the ALBION player pathway, helping them form relationships with our competitive staff and gain an understanding of the expectations and values that shape the club. Through this experience, players begin to build identity, confidence, and a strong connection to the ALBION culture from the very start.
